Death of African Editors’ Forum member - seen on Facebook

The SA National Editors’ Forum (Sanef) just learned of the death of Eleyakim Vanambyl, President of the Chad House of Media. We extend our condolences to Vanambyl’s family and friends.

Vanambyl, died in a traffic accident on the north of N’Djamena, Chad on Sunday, April 7, 2013.

Sanef awarded the 2013 THI Media Award

The South African National Editors’ Forum (SANEF) was presented with the 2013 Media Award at the Turquoise Harmony Institute (THI) Award Dinner at the Sandton Hilton Hotel on April 4, 2013.

Sanef was acknowledged for it efforts in keeping dialogue with stakeholders and its efforts to sustain media freedom in South Africa.

Other THI award recipients were Graca Machel-Mandela who received the Gulen Peace Award, Prof. Jonathan Jansen – Academia Award, MEC Barbara Creecy – Education Award, James Webb – Art Award, Shout SA – Community Service Award and SA’s National Rowing Team received the Sports Award.
