Sanef Media Statement : October 22 2014

The Deputy Chairperson of Sanef, Makhudu Sefara, has advised the leadership of the organisation of his immediate resignation from both his position and his membership.

He has indicated in a letter that an announcement of his circumstances would be made in due course by both himself and his new employers.
In his letter, Makhudu said the following: “I wish to take this opportunity to thank you, members of Mancom, Council and the general membership for the trust and confidence you had in me. And, further, to express my appreciation for the opportunities extended to me to serve Sanef in whatever small capacity the organisation deemed necessary. I wish you and this very important organisation the very best for the future.”

In accepting the resignation, Chairperson Mpumelelo Mkhabela thanked Makhudu for the sterling service to Sanef and to the journalism fraternity through his steadfast defence of editorial independence.

“Makhudu served Sanef and journalism with distinction, unyielding in the face of various threats to editorial independence. We will all miss Makhudu and wish him well and hope he is able to return to Sanef in future,” Mkhabela said.
