Sanef is saddened by the news of the discovery of the bodies that may be of Aserie Ndlovu and his partner

The South African National Editors’ Forum (Sanef) is deeply saddened to learn of the discovery of the bodies believed to be those of Aserie Ndlovu and his partner, Zodwa Mdhluli.
The two have been missing since February this year. Although DNA confirmation is still pending, the South African Police Service (SAPS) believes that the discovered corpses are those of the missing couple.
Sanef extends its condolences to the Ndlovu and Mdhluli families and hopes that justice will be served, bringing closure to both families.
Ndlovu played a pivotal role in community media and was a well-known journalist who managed Capital Live FM in Mamelodi, east of Tshwane. He was also an active member of the National Press Club, a stakeholder organisation that collaborates closely with Sanef.
Sanef continues to condemn violent crime in all its forms across South Africa. In July 2023, the media fraternity mourned the brutal killing of Independent Media’s Bongani Mbatha in KwaZulu-Natal – a case that remains unresolved by the police. Another journalist killed in KZN in 2023 was veteran newsman Jeffrey Zikhali, who was shot and thrown out of his vehicle.
