Sanef Mourns the Passing of Talented News Personality Glenn Lewington
17 August 2018
The media world is saddened by the passing of talented news personality Glenn Lewington. He was born 10 January 1969 and passed away yesterday, 16 August 2018. He was 49 years old.
Lewington started his news career later than most but soon developed his multi-media skills in the SABC’s new media unit more than 15 years ago as a producer and a presenter of cellphone news, and then later on radio and for television. As well as being an accomplished news presenter on Newsbreak 082152 and on SAfm, he produced and presented the weekly half-hour “Africa This Week” TV news feature for a Washington station. He left the news world for a while to work in the African tourism market sector, also making his mark there as a true professional. However, he returned to the broadcasting world in recent years to present a music programme on Classic FM.
Lewington was a consummate professional with great attention to detail and a lovely sense of humour. He will be sorely missed.
