STATEMENT ON THE DEATH OF WISEMAN KHUZWAYO
The South Africa National Editors’ Forum (Sanef) today pays a warm tribute to Wiseman Khuzwayo, a fine journalist, father, husband and a true South African.
Khuzwayo, who dedicated his life to journalism, passed away after a long but courageous battle with cancer.
Khuzwayo was a journalism all-rounder. He ended his career as a financial journalist for Business Report, one of South African leading business publications. His impressive career reflects stints on some of the world’s prestigious newspapers on Britain’s Fleet Street. He also established himself as an investigative reporter, breaking many stories that caught national attention.
Khuzwayo found himself in London after he was forced to into exile in 1977, following detention and torture by the South African police. Once back in South African he worked for the Sunday Star, the Sunday Times before beginning a short stint as a media liaison for the Ministry of Public Works. His love and commitment saw him join Business Report, where he excelled in the labour and economics beats.
SANEF extends its deep condolences to Khuzwayo’s wife Anna and his children.
