SANEF press statement deploring violation of media freedom of visiting US musician 19 June 2009

The SA National Editors’ Forum deplores the reported blatant act of violation of media freedom by visiting American musician R Kelly. SANEF has learnt with shock that an attempt was made to compel journalists covering the musician to sign a document that commits them to censorship and several stringent conditions in direct violation of media freedom, a right guaranteed in our Constitution.
